Chartered Trade Mark Attorney (0488)

We are seeking Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys with 3+ years post qualified experience to join our expanding intellectual property team which is headed up by James Love.  James has a successful career spanning more than 30 years, with wide-ranging international experience, He is a regular speaker at international conferences and his committee roles include 10 years sitting on the prestigious Law Society Intellectual Property Law Committee which promotes and lobbies for improvements in intellectual property law nationally and internationally, on the Law Society International Committee and on the advisory panel of the Leeds City Region China Business Club.

The busy team supports offices in 7 locations across the country and works closely with colleagues in 19 offices across the USA (where we have over 150 IP specialists).  By joining our Global Top 100 law firm, you will work within an experienced, knowledgeable, flexible and supportive group which has built up a strong reputation, particularly in internationally focussed work and in sectors such as retail, fashion, energy and a growing involvement in life sciences.

The roles on offer are all-encompassing, with aspects beyond your average Attorney role.  Crave variety?  With the opportunity to be involved in UK and EUIPO matters, international trade mark and design portfolio management, trade mark registry disputes, corporate due diligence, the drafting of licences and commercial agreements, domain name disputes, and infringement actions, you can make monotony a thing of the past.  Our high profile and varied client base also makes for an impressive workload.

To be successful in this role, you'll need as a minimum:

  • At least 3 years post-qualification experience in trade mark prosecution, enforcement, and advisory work.
  • Experience with a firm with a strong IP reputation, or from a suitable in-house position.
  • Experience of drafting licenses, assignments and oppositions.
