Corporate Tax Lawyer (1416)

Love a technical tax problem? So do we – you will be in good company here.

Our Corporate tax team thrives on the complex and critical tax issues we help our clients with.  Whether buying, selling or restructuring businesses or acquiring or disposing of properties, there are always tax implications which require our input. Often our role is focused on creating and recommending solutions and helping businesses to understand risk, ultimately supporting successful outcomes. We are proud of the collaborative work we do to support transactions across our teams for our broad, successful client base.

Working as a tax lawyer and advisor, you will support clients on a broad range of corporate tax issues.  This will include drafting, negotiating and supporting transactions from a tax perspective, and providing expert advice on issues such as VAT, SDLT, corporation tax, and cgt.  Our work also includes providing expertise around employee share schemes – from design to the support of delivery, implementation and the operation of complex arrangements for businesses. You'll work with a great range of clients, from entrepreneurs and family offices, through to large national businesses, some of which have international interests in sectors such as energy and renewables.

We think this opportunity is unique!  Our team have brilliant technical expertise across a broad range of tax issues and they actively work to share and build technical knowledge, experience and knowhow in others. You will work directly with Partners who are leaders in their field and contribute to delivering solutions for clients from the start, as well as collaborate with other great experts across a broad range of other teams. There is a genuine opportunity, with clear support and development, to build a specialist career into a Managing Associate role and beyond for the right individual.

We are open to conversations with individuals with a genuine desire to build a career in corporate tax – we have a flexible approach to experience and location – but you'll need to have a strong intellectual capability, an ability to interpret and communicate complex concepts, and have a positive attitude towards continuous learning.  Additionally, to be successful in the role you will, as a minimum be:

  • A qualified lawyer in England and Wales
  • Ideally have at least 3 years of post-qualified experience in corporate tax
  • Skilled in providing technical advice to clients on complex areas of law.
  • Able to translate complex concepts into commercial and understandable solutions.
  • Skilled in drafting, with experience in negotiating commercial solutions.
