We have a few vacancies, as mentioned, and we are flexible in terms of where you are based. The team operates from our Leeds, Southampton, Bristol, Newcastle, London and Plymouth offices, so the ability to work from one of these locations when necessary would be ideal for collaborative team working. We need people who are keen to be part of an ambitious team focused on growth and success, who are prepared to work hard and reap the rewards. What is the role?
Our Real Estate team has a national reputation and city pedigree in commercial real estate investment and development work. You'll experience a wide range of property matters from acquisitions and disposals, development work and asset management work for investors, to corporate support and real estate finance. We have a diverse mix of clients that span the public and private sector and include commercial developers, regeneration companies, household names in house building and retail, as well as offices, shopping centres and industrial/warehouse schemes.
Transactions are often high value and offer an excellent opportunity to be involved in high profile quality work.
Our Real Estate team has a deserved reputation for providing first-class legal advice, acting as trusted advisors to many of the key players across the sector. A number of our talented lawyers are listed as leaders in their field.
Working with the wider Real Estate team across the country there will be plenty of opportunity for client contact and you'll be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with these contacts. Business development is an important aspect for all of our lawyers, and you will be able to contribute to the growth of the team by assisting with the organisation of client events, writing articles for our website and other marketing activities.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
We're keen to see applications from lawyers looking to build on their real estate experience or newly qualified lawyers who've had exposure to quality real estate work during their training contracts ideally from a large regional or city firm. What's most important is that you have a genuine enthusiasm to build a career in this specialism.
You'll be a bright and resilient lawyer who is excited at the prospect of working in a busy yet supportive environment. Whatever your experience level, or background, you'll need excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism, a bright mind and a strong team ethos to help further develop the team's client base. You'll also need to be motivated to participate in business development that helps to raise the team's profile and network.
