Senior New Business Development Executive (1031)

We've got an exciting opportunity for a Senior New Business Development Executive to join our growing team.

In terms of location, this role will ideally be based in Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle or London. We operate a hybrid working policy and most full-time employees typically spend around 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home - however we operate a very flexible approach in practice.

The team

Our growth as a firm is driven through our strategic sectors and we play a crucial in driving this strategy. Our Sectors team is at the heart of the business, supporting and advising partners and lawyers in shaping, developing and implementing our sector plans strategically and tactically. They demonstrate real expertise in developing our clients and take time to understand the client, their business and the sector they work in. In understanding the sector and our client's needs and drivers we are able to identify potential new business opportunities; common themes and trends that may have an impact on our clients; and areas for investment to shape our service provision.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include supporting client targeting and relationship initiatives and assisting with developing sector business plans and associated action plans.

At senior exec level you will be expected to own and manage elements of sector BD activity, working with fee earners directly.

You will also be responsible for undertaking research both internally and externally and conducting analysis on clients, targets, markets, competitors and rankings in order to identify key existing clients and targets for new business.

You will be expected to have a broad understanding of your focused sector, and be able to advise on issues and trends relevant to your sector and our areas of activity.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you'll need as a minimum;

  • Experience of contributing to the delivery of business development programmes, preferably within the professional services sector.
  • Experience in one of our core sectors , and a clear passion for continuing to develop and enhance that sectoral expertise.
  • Experience of sales cycles and pipeline development.
  • The confidence to engage at Partner level and the ability to help to challenge thinking.

You'll be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads, manage multiple projects and negotiate deadlines, often working with people cross site and in virtual teams. You must demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude to delivering an excellent service for our clients with a focus on business benefits and results.
